The product challenge is continuity: helping families organize health context in a way that remains useful before, during, and after care encounters.

Product tradeoff: Data completeness vs. patient trust — a family history is only useful if people trust it enough to keep entering it.


What this demonstrates

Product insight

Before smartphones and national health identity systems, a consumer PHR platform had to earn patient trust as the single home for family health records. This demo shows the product surface that made that possible: family-scoped, tracker-anchored, history-preserving, and built for low-connectivity contexts.

How I think about this

Product problem

In pre-smartphone India, families managing health across multiple providers had no single home for their medical history. Records were paper-based, fragmented, and inaccessible at the point of care.

User / system workflow

Families create a shared health profile. Each member's records — consultations, prescriptions, test results, and immunisations — are logged, tracked, and viewable as a longitudinal history. The platform works in low-connectivity environments and on entry-level devices.

My product lens

The trust problem was as hard as the technical problem. Patients needed to believe that storing health records digitally was safer and more useful than keeping paper. The product earned that trust through simplicity, clear data ownership, and offline resilience.

Why it matters

Consumer health platforms serving low-resource or low-connectivity users still face the same product challenges: simplicity, family-scope management, trust, and accessibility before smartphones became universal.

What I would improve next

FHIR-based export for modern interoperability; caregiver-scoped access with consent controls; integration with national health ID systems.
