Lab Analytics Command Center

TAT, Volume, and Variance Intelligence

Lab operations intelligence for TAT, volume, variance, department queues, and RAG-driven worklists.

How it works

Workflow overview

Role-aware RAG dashboard Turnaround-time analytics Volume and accession trends Variance investigation Department queues and referrer analytics

Decision spotlight

The hard product problem is not surfacing more lab metrics. It is connecting turnaround, volume, and variance signals to worklists teams can actually act on, not just charts to look at.

Product tradeoff: Signal volume vs. actionability — dashboards only help lab teams if every metric leads somewhere to act.

What this demonstrates

Product insight

Lab analytics products should connect operational metrics to concrete worklists so teams can move from variance, turnaround, and volume signals into timely action.

Product notes

How I think about this

Product problem

Lab operations teams often monitor turnaround time, order volume, department queues, referrer patterns, and service escalations across fragmented reports. The product challenge is to make these signals actionable without reducing the experience to a passive chart wall.

User / system workflow

The demo starts on a role-aware RAG dashboard, then moves into turnaround-time analytics, volume and accession trends, variance investigation, department queues, referrer analytics, and dashboard configuration. Lab operations, executive, and client services views expose different metrics, worklists, and actions.

My product lens

The demo is framed as a recreated lab operations intelligence portal: RAG indicators, TAT monitoring, volume trends, accession patterns, department queue management, variance workbench, referrer/service analytics, and configurable saved views using synthetic data.

Why it matters

This work demonstrates how healthcare analytics can become an operational product surface where users do not just view dashboards; they investigate, acknowledge, assign, resolve, and configure action-oriented lab workflows.

What I would improve next

Richer facility/network comparison views; expanded longitudinal TAT and accession forecasting; more advanced drilldowns by test category and source; exportable executive summaries; configurable SLA profiles by department; audit-friendly variance investigation history.
